The platinum-group consists of six metals of similar properties.

Platinum Processing Methods
The appropriate processing system needs to be contextualized in line with ore characteristics.
In many instances the Platinum group members are extracted by the means of froth flotation, leaching,
canonization and specialized smelting processes. The result is a 96-98% pure Platinum dore that - upon request -
can be upgraded to 99% purity subsequently.
Since the smelting point if Platinum is 1.768°C processing requires special furnaces to achieve the needed heat.
It is rare that Platinum is the primary target. Usually it is a ancillary product of high economic value which means that integrated processes are needed for primary and secondary target extraction. An integrated solution decreases the Capex and Opex compared to separate processing lines. Platinum is less reactive, more ductile and less malleable than Gold. Hence it requires adjusted processing means.
