Gravity Concentration
Gravity concentration means that minerals are separated based on their specific gravity. Gravity concentration leads to high grade concentrates while large masses of initial material are reduced to very small masses suitable for further processing.
Gravity concentration is used since thousand of years. When processing with chemicals means became know gravity concentration received lesser attention for some decades. This has changed within the last few years again as new methods of gravitational concentration surfaced and repositioned gravity concentration in the mineral extraction industry.
SECA gravity systems are very complex in structure yet very easy to use and require no chemicals at all.
Such systems include;

Contextual Gravity Separation
Gravity based concentration are be used at different stages within the processing cycle. Usually in pre-concentration steps and gangue rejection circuits.
Advanced systems usually have more than one gravity based concentration circuit. The exact position of the circuits is determined based on proper tests and labwork were conducted on the ore body.
The reasons to focus on efficient gravity separation of minerals is obvious.

- Non-chemical processing
- Low energy consumption
- High recovery rate / significant concentrate upgrade
- High processing capacity applicable to certain ore bodies.
SECA gravity concentrators have the potential to remove 80% of traditional mercury based processing while achieving better recovery rates at lower costs.
